Jane M. Guevremont, Counsel

Jane Guevremont represents insurers and insureds in complex insurance coverage and bad faith cases, including in the areas of professional malpractice, commercial liability, directors & officers insurance, and fidelity bond coverage. Her experience includes:

       
  • Advising insurers about a variety of insurance coverage and claims handling issues and inter-insurer disputes;
  • Representing insurers in coverage disputes and bad faith claims in state and federal court;
  • Prosecuting coverage and bad faith claims on behalf of insureds;
  • Securing over $1 million dollars in fidelity bond coverage for a client’s losses as a result of an employee theft after insurer disclaimed coverage for late notice;
  • Obtaining $12 million toward defense and settlement of a claim under general liability and directors & officers policies after insurers disclaimed coverage;
  • Advising and representing colleges and universities on a range of matters, including student discipline, confidentiality obligations, and antitrust issues; and
  • Negotiating and drafting contracts and advising senior management and other staff while serving as in-house counsel at a college.
