How States Can Shape Development Through P3 Initiatives
On Thursday, May 11, the Boston Bar Association (BBA) held a well-attended panel entitled “How States Can Shape Development Through P3 Initiatives”. Paige Scott Reed of A&K presented the general legal framework for development via public private partnerships (P3s), and Jeffrey Simon of Stantec and Mike Cantalupa of Boston Properties discussed how the P3 model was used to construct a deal to rehab Back Bay Station and develop some surrounding properties. Nina Pickering-Cook of A&K acted as moderator for the panel. Given the popularity of the topic and the enthusiastic feedback, the BBA’s Land Use and Development Committee of the Real Estate Section plans another P3-related panel for the fall of 2017.
