Lending a Hand to an Innovative and Passionate Project
Recent college graduates Sarah Rosenkratz and Sam Greenberg saw a need: Cambridge and Boston had a little over a dozen beds dedicated to the region’s growing young adult homeless population. To make their dream of a dedicated youth shelter possible, they formed the Y2Y program (under the umbrella of the Phillips Brooks House Association, an existing non-profit) and worked with Anderson & Kreiger’s David Wiener and Mina Makarious to negotiate a lease with a Harvard Square church for space and draft construction contracts for its buildout. When Y2Y was ready to grow further, A&K worked with the organization’s founders to help it incorporate as a new non-profit entity. A&K is currently assisting Y2Y in setting up policies and procedures, and obtaining appropriate insurance coverage to make the transition to the new organization as seamless as possible.
