Carmen Ortiz Participated on Panel at Annual Hispanic National Bar Association Convention

On Friday September 7, 2018, Carmen Ortiz was a panelist on the “Protecting Attorney Client Privilege: Investigations and Beyond” panel at the Hispanic National Bar Association (“HNBA”) Annual Convention. The panel’s discussion focused on how there is often a tension between how to gather information in a timely and effective manner while encouraging employee candor and preserving as much privilege as possible for companies conducting internal investigations. The panelists, which consisted of in-house and outside counsel, as well as expert consultant, provided the audience strategies for protecting privilege in the wake of recent court decisions particularly when balancing parallel criminal investigations and civil proceedings.
